SUMMARY:How to Mitigate Workforce Burnout & Fatigue
DESCRIPTION:Description: Long before the country was in the global COVID-19 health crisis\, healthcare workers were experiencing burnout and exhaustion. And now\, the pandemic has made it worse. Not only are staff working overtime\, but they are also worried about putting themselves\, their families\, and patients at risk. COVID-19 concerns come at a time when healthcare providers are dealing with a lot of unknowns. The healthcare system is changing\, and providers are faced with the continuous need to adapt to new and innovative practice approaches and payment strategies. It’s no wonder everyone feels exhausted! During this webinar\, we will provide the time and space to discuss the best ways to support staff while increasing satisfaction and joy at work during this tumultuous time. \nView Resource \n The previously recorded webinar and associated materials are available in the resource library. \nSpeakers: Suzanne Daub\, LCSW (HMA)\, Dr. Mihriye Mete & Kima Taylor\, MD\, MPH \n \n

SUMMARY:Bundle Up! What’s a Bundled Payment & How Does It Fit Into a VBP framework?
DESCRIPTION:Description: Moving away from FFS and toward more innovative payment models can incentivize providers to deliver more comprehensive multi-disciplinary care. One example of a new payment model is the “Medicare Bundled Payment”. This payment includes multiple services over a period of time (an episode of care)\, rather than a single service on a day of service. To bill for these codes\, providers need to shift to a perspective of treating a condition over time and with the affiliated services “ie the bundle” rather than billing for each service individually. Providers need to understand the risk and benefits of providing multiple services bundled together at a fixed cost. \nDuring this webinar\, HMA clinical and billing experts will discuss how and where bundles fit in the continuum of payment transformation and what new skills and approaches providers and their care teams will need to have in place for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder as a bundled payment. \nView Resource \n The previously recorded webinar and associated materials are available in the resource library. \nSpeakers: Scott Haga\, MPAS\, PA-C (HMA)\, Caitlin Thomas-Henkel\, MSW (HMA)

SUMMARY:Integrating Screening for Drug Use in General Medical Settings & Optimizing the Care Team
DESCRIPTION:Description: Universal screening is key to successful detection of who needs further assessment. Additionally\, most providers are unaware of the power a brie intervention can have or that what they may already be doing with their patients has an evidence base to support it. This webinar will review the difference between screening and assessment and will demonstrate screening\, brief intervention\, and referral to treatment\, referred to as SBIRT. We will also review the evidence base for SBIRT and talk to a DC provider who has implemented training on SBIRT in their clinic. \nView Resource \n The previously recorded webinar and associated materials are available in the resource library. \nSpeakers: Suzanne Daub\, LCSW (HMA) & Shannon Robinson\, MD (HMA) \n \n  \n  \n
