SUMMARY:Bundle Up! What’s a Bundled Payment & How Does It Fit Into a VBP framework?
DESCRIPTION:Description: Moving away from FFS and toward more innovative payment models can incentivize providers to deliver more comprehensive multi-disciplinary care. One example of a new payment model is the “Medicare Bundled Payment”. This payment includes multiple services over a period of time (an episode of care)\, rather than a single service on a day of service. To bill for these codes\, providers need to shift to a perspective of treating a condition over time and with the affiliated services “ie the bundle” rather than billing for each service individually.
